Competition information for Sacramento Bot Battles teams, including registration, entry fees, waivers, inspection, pit procedures, handling requirements, and rules.
Registration and entry fees
Entry fees run per robot — $20 per Plastic Ant and $50 per 15lb robot at the most recent event — paid through Zeffy at registration. Every builder, advisor, and parent with pit access completes the online waiver before event day; a current season waiver from an earlier Placer Robotics combat event carries over.
Inspection
Every robot passes a safety inspection before competing: weight check, activation and failsafe verification, and weapon locking. A Friday-evening check-in and inspection window is offered before event day — use it; inspection queues form fast on event morning.
Pit and robot-handling requirements
- Safety glasses are required in the pits at all times.
- Robots may only be powered on inside an approved arena or test box.
- Batteries charge only in the designated battery charging area.
- A HAKKO-equipped repair center supports soldering and repairs between rounds.
Build and learning resources
SBB's 15lb class runs under NRL competition rules; plastic-ant brackets run under their posted bracket rules. A New Builders' Seminar is offered before each season's event.
