Impact Robotics League
The Impact Robotics League is Placer Robotics' one-pound combat robotics league. Students design, print, wire, and compete with their own plastic-ant robots at events throughout the season.
How league events work
Matches run two minutes in the arena — win by knockout, tap-out, or the judges' cards on damage, control, and aggression. Between fights every team gets a guaranteed repair window and a pit table. Nothing about it is simulated: the robot you printed either survives the hit or it doesn't.
Robot rules
Every robot gets a public career card on the league site — fight-by-fight record, KO count, combat rating, and a badge case that fills up over seasons. Builders earn XP across every robot they touch; it never resets, and losses never subtract. Career cards follow each robot across its competition history.
Costs
One pound, printed plastic, brushed motors, a 3S battery: a complete competitive robot costs roughly the price of a video game console, with options if you don't own a printer. The design, the build, and the driving are the students' own work.
