Introduction to Robotics (VEX IQ)
Build a competition-style VEX IQ robot in a week. Our most popular first camp.
What campers do
Campers learn core robotics skills (mechanical building, simple mechanisms, teamwork, and driver practice) while working in small teams to build and improve their robot through iteration. The session wraps up with a friendly mini-competition. Camp Managers and Lead Instructors are college students and rising high-school seniors, all current or former Placer Robotics team members, at 4:1–6:1 ratios.
Who it's for
Students entering grades 4–7 in fall 2026. No experience needed. Many campers join a VEX IQ team the following season.
