Where are classes held?
Unless otherwise noted, all summer camps and classes are held at the new Placer Robotics Center in downtown Roseville, CA.

My child is currently in X grade. What grade level is appropriate?
Camp ages/grades are based on Fall 2026. For example, if your child is currently in 4th grade, select from camps recommended for students entering 5th grade in Fall 2026.
My child will be in 4th grade Fall 2026 and would like to attend an Introduction to IQ Camp. Which should I choose?
We offer two options for 4th grade to help with sibling/friend match‑ups. The 4–7th grade camp is a bit faster paced, while the 2–4th grade camp is a shorter day.
The 4–7th grade option is good if your child is comfortable working with slightly older kids. We do our best to pair kids up based on requests and grade level. For a younger 4th grader with shorter attention span and a true beginner, the 2–4th grade camp may be the better choice.
Who are the instructors?
Camp Managers/Lead Instructors are college students and rising high school seniors, all former or current robotics team members. Group counselors are typically robotics high school team members (V5, Combat) or rising 8th graders. Experienced summer camp volunteers and competition experts—Placer Robotics has been teaching classes and mentoring teams since 2015.
PART (Placer Robotics) is a 7‑time VEX Worlds and 8‑time NRL Nationals Combat Robotics qualifier. In 2022, PART 295 teams earned the Design Award at the California State VEX Robotics High School Championships and the Excellence and Robot Skills Awards at the California State VEX Robotics Middle School Championships.
What is the camp size, group size, and counselor ratio?
Camp size depends on the course, typically ranging from 16–27 students. Students are grouped in teams of 2–3. Counselor ratio varies by camp, with most IQ camps in the 4:1 to 6:1 range depending on the level. See each individual course detail page for more information.

I registered for a camp but want to switch weeks. Who do I contact?

Are scholarships available?
We have a limited number of half and full scholarships available (financial‑need based, not merit). Contact Camps@PlacerRobotics.org to inquire about availability and the application process.
Is there space for parents to stay and work during camp?
